Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no cracks, chips, or crazing. There are minimal wear marks on the bottom, but the gilt shows no signs of wear. It does spot. After hand washing, dry the inside of the cup completely with a soft towel. I like microfiber. Otherwise, the inside will have more spots than a dalmatian. See photos.

Add sparkle to your vintage and antique teacup and saucer with this iridescent blue demitasse cup and saucer set. Hand-painted gilt flourishes frame the transferware roses. The heavy gilt inside the quatrefoil-shaped cup makes the interior gleam like a mirror. (Yes, that’s my phone reflected in one of the photos.) The reticulated saucer takes this already extra cup to the next level.

This delicate beauty is unmarked but identical to sets marked “Royal Ainsley 7704.” Yes, that’s spelled correctly. From what I understand, Royal Ainsley was a 1950s export from Japan. One of their cups appears in the Japanese section of Harran’s third book, but there’s little available about the company beyond that. If you have any information about them, please share.
